QuickLogic announces mass production of longer battery life and high resolution display PDF Print E-mail

QuickLogic Corp. – a developer of semiconductor solutions for mobile and portable electronics – announced the mass production of the ArcticLink II VX2 CSSP Solution Platform.

It includes their Display Power Optimizer (DPO) and the second generation of the Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE) Proven System Blocks (PSBs) meant to “offer mobile device designers and manufacturers the integration and flexibility necessary to accelerate time-to-market and create differentiation in the mobile market.”


The ArcticLink II VX2 Solution Platform features:
- RGB input/output controlled through I2C-like interface
- Display up to WXGA resolution (1366 x 768)
- Optimizes video characteristics on a pixel-by-pixel, frame-by-frame basis
- Allows for reduced system battery consumption by 25%


The programmable fabric portion of the chip can include multiple PSBs, at the customer’s discretion. According to QuickLogic, these PSBs include “High Speed URATs for Bluetooth, Pulse Width Modulators for driving general purpose and backlight LEDS, SPI and I2C host, display-specifics needs.” A list of these PSBs can be found at http://www.quicklogic.com/cssp-solution-proven-system-blocks.
