Avnet Electronics Marketing named distributor of the year for the Americas by Fairchild Semiconductor.

Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has been named
distributor of the year for the Americas, by Fairchild Semiconductor.
The award recognizes Avnet as a significant contributor to Fairchild’s
success and outstanding sales performance in the America’s region
during calendar year 2008.
Fairchild is one of Avnet’s
earliest franchised lines. The two companies joined forces 50 years
ago, when Fairchild signed one of its earliest distribution agreements
with Avnet. Together, the two have built a strategic partnership that
spans five decades and provides leading-edge semiconductor technology
solutions to customers throughout North America.
